  1. They do make temperature probes for microwave ovens, you'd have to have a special one.  They are used to check for food safety based on time and wattage and to see if things are going to be done.

I'd look on the manufacturers web site for support and ask

It will probably cost more than the microwave

You could find out how hot something gets by heating it and then quickly taking it out and covering with Al foil and then jamming a themometer in it and waitng for it to equalize, would give you the inside temp of foods

Unless you catch something on fire in there (been there, done that) you are going to max out at water boiling temp

  2. The usual convection ovens use a resistance heater for indirect heating of what is kept inside by heating the air space. These have settable thermostats. Microwave acts directly on the water molecules as TDD said. Therefore temperature has no meaning in this context.

  3. As that guy with the funny name says, microwave ovens create energy as microwaves.  This is piped into the oven cavity & if all goes well is absorbed by the thing you want to heat.

The thing gets hot.  The longer you l leave it the more energy it absorbs.

It also loses some heat to the air round it & such.

So basically, like he said, it depends on what you put in & for how long.

If your microwave put 500 Watts in, then thats 500 Joules per second.

Different things heat up different amounts with the same energy. That is a different number of degrees per joule of energy.

So sorry, the question has no simple answer that makes much sense.

  4. Microwaves don't have a temperature - they have a wattage.  Reason is that the microwave doesn't provide any heat - it just makes radio waves that just happen to cause the water in the food to heat up.  As such, temperature is meaningless - it depends solely on how long you put the thing in for, and at what wattage (power).  To check the power of the microwave, you can normally look at the label on the back.
