A ccj is a county court judgement you get it when a person you owe money to wins a court case saying that you owe them that money. You dont need to have gone to court to get this ruling. All that you can do improve your credit rating is to pay off your debts as quickly as you can afford.

you pay it off.  as it is a CCJ at the rate (or faster) that the court ordered you too.

once it is paid off in full then you can get the judgement marked as "satisfied" on your credit history file, but as it is a history and you had the CCJ it is a statement of fact and so will appear on your file for the next 6 years.
