How do u get a copy of your gps medical notes??does it cost anything?

  1. Just ask to see them and request a copy


  2. You have to make the request in writing to your surgery and there is an admin fee, about £10-15.

  3. You can get a copy from yr GP and u do have to pay. If i am not mistaken, we paid £50 for my families notes (5 of us) but that was 6 years ago. Hope this helps.

  4. You can go to the surgery to pick up a copy of the notes, ask at reception and they will give you details etc. You will be required to pay a fee for administration etc this can come to about £25 per copy.

  5. You just ask your doctor for a copy - it should not cost anything unless they charge a small administrative fee for copying.

    If your transferring doctors, the doctor's office you are moving to will send a request to your current doctor for a copy of your file, it will not cost anything.
