you can either use a extremely cheap eyeliner that you would never use as eyeliner because of horribly smeared it can get or you can use black eyeshadow.

using the eyeliner, draw a line right above your eyelashes...using your finger, just smear it up towards your eyebrow. it really works.

or...using black eyeshadow, put a dark line just above your eyelashes and with a clean brush, stroke upwards towards your eyebrow.

Either way you do it...getting it darker on the outer part of your eyelid always looks good too

Have you considered smokie eye kits...MALLY on HSN or QVC makes a great one.

However here is how I do mine:

1). use a good primer...i like urban decay's

2). put lighter color shadow (natural color) all over eye lid

3). put medium color in crease and on eye lid

4). Heavily line with wet darker eyeshadow (I do the entire top of eye and half of bottom rim)

5). Line with black liquid liner (just to make eyes pop a little more...i do entire top again and only a third of bottom rim).

6). Curl lashes and apply mascara

Typically smokie looks work best with plums, dark greens, greys or dark blues...dark brown can also be used for a more natural look.

If you have blonde hair you should use a fat black eyeliner pencil so you have a thick ring around your eye and some really dark mascara. If you have darker hair you should use a thin eyeliner pencil and some dark mascara.

Well, I dont have a video, but I can explain it the best I can.

Okay, so apply a medium amount of black eyeshadow on the top and bottom lid of your eye.

Then using a small brush, or even the eraser tip of a pencil, smudge the liner up (slightly).

Next, apply a medium-dark grey (not metallic) shadow on the lips, not going over the crease.

Next, take a black shadow, and apply is starting at the outer  corner of your eye.

Then blend it up, into the crease of your eye.

Then apply a small about of black eyeshadow to your bottom lashline to smoke it out a little.

Finally, apply two layers of mascara to your upper lashes, and one coat on the bottom.

There you have it.

There are SO many different ways of doing a smokey eye, but this is just one version.

You can also replace the grey and black with dark blue and a deep navy color. Or a dark lavender shadow with a blackish plum color. You can also use two shades of brown.
