You don't.And by "appliances"I assume you mean bird toys specifically designed for small birds.

Finches like to have shredded paper and make nests.It's what they do.What nature designed them for.If it pleases you to spend money on small bird toys then buy a few.Put them in the cage and look at them.There is no guarantee , (or even a need for them )that the finches will use them at all.Make sure they have lots of cuttlebone, a tiny bit of a calcium supplement in food or water wouldn't hurt either,and a good quality seed mix.Clean water is of utmost importance.
