  1. Calluses although not the prettiest of things are actually good for dancing on pointe, they will make it a tad more comfortable.

I use ouch pouches, i did try gel pouches , but they are so thick that it is hard to feel the floor properly, which affected my dancing, if i have blisters i wrap the blistered toe with strip of jay cloth and then tape it before putting on my tights. Hope this helped.

  2. girl unfortunately ballerinas have the ugliest feet in the world.  lol  nah callouses and blisters are a common thing for die hard athletes.  it's your body's natural defense/compensation for the work you're putting it through.  you push your feet harder, your body responds/tries to help you out by giving you harder feet.

i know this is going to sound gross but you're going to kinda need the callouses cuz if you keep getting pedicures, its going to be like going through the whole process all over again and it'll probably hurt even more each time, ya know?  starting out with soft skin and then having to go through the hardening process all over again.

i say just keep your feet as clean as possible and keep on dancing.

  3. I'm not quite yet en pointe, but I will be in a year or two.  It's actually good to have callouses on your toes, because it toughens up your feet and makes it easier to dance without hurting so badly.  Hope I helped!  :)

  4. Callouses and blistering is a common problem for dancers doing Pointe. I've tried using special gel inserts and they only work for so long and my dance instructor didn't appreciate my using them because it was considered "cheating". Haha. I don't believe there's any real product or trick to guaruntee blister-free feet. My sister, who is also a dancer and has very strong feet. (When you have stronger feet, the arch of the shoe will break fairly quickly and you'll have to get a new pair.) Her poor feet would bleed terribly after classes even with precautions.
