  1. I was homeschooled.  And all my mother had to do was go online and find this form that said that she was performing her rights to teach me at home and withdrawing me and she signed it.

i don't know what sight she went to unfortunatley. But I know you could always call a lawyer up and they could definitely help you out with that.

But you do have to have a  legal guardians consent

  2. Try the American school.  the address is 2200 east 170th st.  Lansing Ill 60438.

    We use it.

  3. Here's a helpful blog about getting started with homeschooling.

  5. Go here. My 12yr old follows this plan (adjusted a bit just for her) but she does a lot of the work herself -

If she doesn't like a book we use: mainlesson.com to find another one to fit her liking.

Here is our personal homeschool site to see how we do it.

Your parents need to help out in homeschooling. That is the key with homeschooling. The parent & child work together. But it can work well even if you parents work or work part time.

Also your parents need to know the LAWS of your state. Each state is different.

ABOUT THE ABOVE ANSWER - Most kids are NOT homeschooled because they are unhappy in school. I can think of TONS of homeschooling families in our church who have homeschooled from DAY ONE. None of the kids have ever been to school outside the home.

There are MANY reasons parents homeschool. It is never just one.

Plus telling your parents you are unhappy in school is not always the answer. I HATED school as a child and in the early 90's I begged my parents to homeschool me. Sadly they refused.

  6. Yes, K12

It is free and the materials are amazing!

  7. Find out if your district offers a program called "Independent Study", you meet with a teacher once a week, they give you homework, you study at home. I am in it and am graduating early because of how fantastic it is. Best of all, its free and effective =]

  8. u get homeschooled if ur parents like Ron Paul, Thomas Jefferson, and think that McCain and Obama are evil.

ROFL. Just kidding. Most parents homeschool their kids if their kids are extremely unhappy in school, if they are getting bullied and nobody's doing anything, or if there are simply no good schools where you live.

I'm homeschooled, and I personally love it. we learn everything anyone who goes to school does. And better, we only have to do 4 hours (at the most) of schoolwork a day!

There ARE courses online that homeschoolers take, and for the socializing part, you can find a local homeschooling club in the area. I go to one, and I met my two closest friends there. We're like sisters.

Conclusion: If you want to be homeschooled tell you parents ur unhappy and u really just wanna try it. If they say no, don't give up, ask again some other time. Who knows? Maybe sometime they'll finally say yes...
