  2. If you are NOT 18, you can't.

Probably NOT the answer that you want to hear but you ar too young to sign a contract and insurance IS a contract.

Perhaps you can talk to your grandparents and have THEM sign for you.  In some States, it is possible to have a separate policy from the parents BUT the parent(s) still have to sign the application.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  3. Reply will be different in different country!

I am in INDIA so i can reply as per Indian conditions.

In India, you can buy a policy but there must be proposer or you must be self earner or as you told that you are having lot of money to pay premiums so that you must show the proof.

if you can proof then you can buy policy (Indian or NRI Only)

  4. You have to own a car & you absolutely can purchase a car & purchase insurance before you are 18.  Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.  You probably will not be able to get a loan or will get a loan at such a high interest rate that you will not be able to afford it.  Save your money so you can purchase an older car with cash (be sure to have it checked by a mechanic!) & purchase a policy on it.

I insure several 16 yr olds that have their own cars & own insurance in THEIR name & it is perfectly legal.  It has never been questioned by anyone, insurance company included.
