How do u get rid of cigeret smoke smell from house?

What you do is get a bunch of bowls and put ground up coffee in them. Trust me this works. Just switch out the coffee in them about 2 times a week to completely get the smell out. This really works !! you just have to try it. When we used febreeze, or oust they just worked temporarily. Really this works and best of all, you do not smell smell it through your house. All you have to do is put one bowl in each room that smells.

It's very hard. Smoke seems to permiate every single fibre! Firstly open all windows and leave to air. Wash anything you can ie. Curtains. If you have a carpet you could shampoo it, though it will be difficult to get the smell out of carpet. Use febreeze or oust on fabrics (something that doesn't just cover smells, but gets them out) and finally use anti tobacco sprays and plug in fresheners.

I've been a smoker for years and I've found that plenty of fresh air does the best job. Air cleaners and sprays only work temporarily, but it's mother nature that does the job for me. With air fresheners your only adding more smells. Open a window or a door and the air will carry the smoke particles out of your house!!!! Science is fun : )

There are these candles that "odor eat" the smell instead of masking is (like with air freshener).  Its usually a white candle with a green cylinder inside (can buy at Walmart).  I'm a smoker and I hate having the smell in the house.  What I do is take a Saturday afternoon and open all the windows in the house, to let fresh air in.  Then I Febreeze my fabrics and light scented candles.  After a while the smell will disappear.  To keep it smelling nice though....you know the only true way to stop the smell is to not smoke in the house

HVAC Tech.:  There are several ways to accomplish this. Begin by getting the evaporator coil(s) professionally cleaned, replace the filter with a new one. send the drapes to the cleaners. Clean the carpets and rugs. ALL the soft goods will have to be cleaned over time Clothes ,linen, etc. Ceiling fans, and other air handlers will all have to be cleaned, wash down the walls with Mr. Clean and white vinegar in water. Well the best way to do so is to buy room fresheners and spray them after a smoke, or else use the Ambi Pur kinda fresheners that help you to keep the room fresh 24X7.

Well, if your either too poor to get these things or just lazy enough, open your window and then smoke!

If you're looking for a more permanent fix (i.e. you just moved into a house that smells like smoke?) the best thing is to paint.  That gets the smell out of the walls.

For a temporary fix, I agree with the odor eater candles, and lots of air.

I recently quit smoking.  

A bowl of vinegar set out helps a ton.  Also spray a fabric refresher such as fabreeze or you can use white vinegar on all the soft surfaces.  (Sofa, carpet, mattresses, chairs, drapes etc)

This helps to get the smell out.  It works for pet odors as well.
