i have cleaned out everything and brought containers for food etc so there is no food source. the only thing i can think of is the pets food bowl. i have laid traps but they seem to not go near them at all. but i know i have at least one mouse as i have seen it.

there just common field mice, as i had an empty lot next to my house that they have just started buliding on.

so if anybody had any suggestions id appreciate it

  1. Put peanut butter on the traps

Crush glass small enough for a mouse to eat it and sprinkle it on peanut butter it will cut his insides up

    Good Luck

  2. We've always used DCon pellets (poison) which from what I understand is supposed to make the mice thirsty so they will go outside seeking water and die. Sounds gruesome but they work. Just make sure you keep them out of reach of pets and children.

  3. get a kitty.  we have several cats outside and a couple inside and haven't seen a mouse or a snake anywhere around the place... except dead ones that the cats drag up to the porch to show us.

  4. CAT

  5. you can use the old time traps that you have to set,Put a sm amount of peanut butter on it and always line it up to the Wall the walk right up on the walls. OR they have have sticky traps that once they step on them they can't go anywhere and if you have sm children that's the way to go.**** all the holes in the house,Especially in the kitchen under the sink. They can come through the smallest of holes.

  6. Racumin by bayer is apparently pet safe poisons for rodents.  Try farming supply stores, or I have heard that small dogs (fox/tenterfield terriers) are great mousers!

  7. rat bait/poison. place it around the house but out of reach of animals and children and far enough away from food products. Maybe even throw some baits in the roof of your house as thats where they tend to 'nest'

  8. You're right, the mice are probably getting their food from your pet's dishes.  So...  If you want to catch the mice, you have to stop letting them eat at Pet Restaurant.

Put your pet's food dish up high, say on top of the refrigerator.  Don't leave it on the floor longer than an hour at a time.  Keep regular hours when you set the dish on the floor--your pet will adjust, fast (they'll be there and ready at x o'clock!).

If you're comfortable killing the mouse (and that's the best solution), get a trap and bait with peanut butter or a sliver of raw bacon secured to the trigger with thread.  Otherwise, get a live trap and let the thing go far, far away from your house...  We're talking 50 miles.  Mice make their way back, it's uncanny.

Keep going with the traps for 30 days in case there's more mice.

Check cat or dog magazines for pet feeding stations that have covers which flip up when the animal steps on a platform that the dish rests on.

And stop up any holes around piping under sinks, or in the basement, etc., that mice can enter through.  If a pencil can fit, so can they.  Use steel wool, they can't chew through it.

Also check your lower cabinets and drawers for droppings--they may have more food sources than you think.

  9. exterminator!! if you have pets in the house i wouldnt do poision.. even if they dont get to the poision then if say a cat found a dead mouse and ate it.. they would most likely suffer as well. goodluck!!!

  10. An exterminator will be able to give you some better solutions, and methods of removing them from the house.
