How do u get that effect on guitar?

iv been playing for a long time and i got lots of pedals etc but how do u get that effect when the sound,sounds like the volume being turned up and down insanely fast!....like link wray in the song rumble towards the end he throws in the effect!......??????......

Sounds like a volume pedal. I have a Mr Crybaby wah that has a switch that changes it to a volume pedal. You can make the guitar sound like a violin with practice.
