  1. Hey, I'm from Münster !

The cheapest way is the "Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket" for 30 €, but you need much time ( five hours). One can it use only in local trains and in whole Germany.

But you can go with the IC-Train, from Münster at Frankfurt via Dortmund for 60 €, one-way.

Here you can find more information:

  2. You can't have both cheap and fast.  Try this http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.e...

  3. Like Blattnebel I'm also from Münster in Northrhine-Westphalia and I agree with him/her, that the train would offer both a cheap and a fast way to go from Frankfurt to Münster. A third option beside the cheap Wochend-ticket and the fast direct ICE-train would be the IC-train that goes via Mainz, Koblenz and Bonn through the Rhine valley. It's cheaper and slower than the ICE but goes through a very beautiful landscape, so you could do some sightseeing from the train window on the way.

Another thing: there is also a smaller place called Munster (without the Umlaut) in Germany which is in Lower Saxony and has nothing to do with Münster, it's not even close. So make sure which place you want to go, as they're often written in the same way in English. If you want to use the train timetable in john b's link and don't have a keyboard with Umlauts, type Muenster for Münster as ue=ü.
