There is no such thing as free energy.  Assuming you can install a wind turbine to provide all of the electric power you need in your home, it is still not free.  The turbine, generator and associated equipment needed to bring the power into your house will cost quite a bit and so will the installation.  These capital cost must be factored into the cost of the power you get.  In addition, this equipment is not maintenance free and the cost of maintenance must also be assigned as cost to the electricity you produce.

  3. Basically, you need a tower, the taller the better, an alternator (people have used auto ones), and blades. There's plenty of plans online. Mother earth news has some probably. There's a group which helps poor africans make a really cheap, durable one, see if you can find them on the web. Getting it up high will give you way more power, so go tall! Keep reading!
