  1. Be active, take pain pill

  2. Taking ibuprofen the day before your period even starts can help prevent the cramps.  If you get a lot of bloat too, you can try something like Midol (but don't take both of those together!)  If you do feel crampy, take a couple ibuprofen and pop into a hot bath.  It helps the pain for quite a while, long enough for the ibuprofen to kick in.  (Ibuprofen is better than tylenol, but if it upsets your stomach, you can use tylenol--it's better than nothing).  A heating pad or hot water bottle is great, too.  They also have those traveling heating pad thingys, which you can put on under your clothes and do whatever and still get heat there.  They're made of the same things as those hand warmer dealies, and work great.

Some studies have found that taking calcium every day can make your periods easier.  A cheap, easy way to get calcium is to take Tums.  I think the minty ones are the best-tasting, tho none would win awards =)  It says on the package how many to take as a calcium supplement.  Another thing that may make them easier is evening primrose oil, but it is really pricey.

  3. A fifth of Scotch a day comes to mind.
