How do u keep kids entertained in the holidays & especially when the weather sucks?

hi have to boys age 4 & 6 & they get really bored & i find it hard to keep them entertained with out ha vent to spend a heap orv money all the time got any Ida's?

~make a tent in a room with lots of old pillows and blankets and read stories, play pretends and cuddle :)

~ hire some DVDs for the day (make healthy pop-corn)

~get crafty, buy some cheap craft supplies and old boxes and let their imaginations take place

~go to a libary and make it interesting!

~ lots of cuddles from mum  :)

Give them board games, puzzles, blocks, legos or something to storm there little minds..

Baking, painting, dancing, making up funny fitness routines, theme days (superhero days for example).

It's important to get kids moving, and you have a great chance to get yours exercising, learning and moving now =)

heavysoviet: Lock 'n Load! is wrong p**n is not appropriate for kids this is BS i have kids of my own and i can tell you that there are many activities that are better and suitable for kids there age. For example mini hockey if it is really to cold to play out doors but my kids to play outside on our outdoor community rink just like the outdoor game last in NHL it was really fun for the kids.

Let them be kids and allow them to learn to entertain themselves.  Why do parents these days think they have to be a 24/7 entertainment director for their children?
