  1. LG is the abbreviation for LIFE IS GOOD, marketed by the TV producers.

  2. ok ur not gonna have a standard 1 cuz  said its hd.   @nd if u have a real glossy screen it is a plasma. 3rd an lcd screen is like the one on your computer most likely if u have a new one and u can tell if u slightly put your finger on the screen and see like wave moving its an lcd. 4th. If u have a big back sticking out is probably a Dlp and Lg is a brand it stands for lifes good.  Hope i helped :p

  3. I would find the model number on the tv and look it up online.  All you have to do is find out what kind of tv you have (should be on the front of your tv) and the model number and type it in google.

  4. A CRT or Cathode Ray Tube TV is easy to pick out because it uses electron guns to beam focused electrons at the screen to make a picture.  It will be the thickest TV because it works like a reverse-projector and needs space to project the electrons from the gun to the screen.

A plasma TV uses electronics to stimulate noble gases into a plasma that excites phosphors that emit light.  It is a flat-screen type of TV and is usually only a few inches (or cm) thick.

A LCD or Liquid Crystal Display TV uses electrodes and filters to orient colored liquid crystals into an image. It is another flat-screen type of TV that is very thin and has been used in devices like calculators for years.

A DLP projector chip uses millions of mirrors on a chip to reflect incoming light from a white lamp onto a screen as a variety of colors.  It is currently used in rear-projection TVs and projectors.

A rear-projection TV uses the same concept as a CRT in projecting an image from behind (and sometimes below) the screen onto the screen.  But, it can use CRTs, LCDs, or a DLP chip to generate the projection image.  It is thus, like a CRT TV, thicker than plasmas and LCDs but is usually larger than a standard CRT TV.

High Definition TV (HDTV) means that your TV is able to display a signal that has more pixels than the standard definition TV signal (SDTV) that has been used in TVs for decades.  A full HDTV set can display 1080p (1920x1080 pixels).  There are also lower versions of HDTV including 1080i (1280x1080 pixels) and 720p (1280x720 pixels) that display near-HD quality.

The best way to tell what kind of TV you have is to check your manufacturer's information (manual, information printed on the back of the TV).  You can always check good info sites like wikipedia for more detailed information.
