  1. My advice would be that you really need to visit a well known dance shop for fitting. There are so many different specifications and the shoes have to fit perfectly or there are serious consequences. They might not last as long, or they might not support your feet as well, you feet could fall out, you may not be able to get up on pointe, you could suffer from foot / arch / ankle problems. Also, the sizing is different for most brands of pointe shoes. Better to go in to the shop and let the professionals fit them. After that when you know the exact style, size and hardness then by all means order them online. Good luck.

  2. like everyone else's answer, im gonna tell you to not buy them online...unlike normal shoes, pointes are fitted on multiple dimensions, and not doing that in person is a bad idea. also, unless you have danced on pointe before you don't know what brand you prefer, so that can make a difference. Brands differ greatly in both the make of the shoe, and the sizing of the shoe. All in all, the best idea is to go to a store, even if that means making a long trip....it will be worth it!

  3. Sounds like you need to be fitted for a pair and then purchase from the Internet if you have to.  It is very important to be fitted for the shoe by a professional otherwise you can permanently damage your feet.  Don't try going on pointe unless you have a dance instructor who has advised you that you are ready because if your ankles are not strong enough and you don't have enough training, once again you can cause permanent damage to your feet.

Try getting fitted for the proper shoe, write down the manufacturer, width, shank size, the shoe size, and style including style number so you can use that info to correctly order the same shoe off the Internet.  Also, if you are a beginner ask the clerk about shoes for beginner.

  4. unless you are buying the same exact pointe shoe as you had before you shouldnt buy it online. Shoes are hand made and are all made differently. Also sizes are different depending what brand of shoe you are get. Pointe shoes are something you need to have the exact size correct..so it is best to go and be fitted.

  5. go to a store

    you need to be fitted

it will end badly if you don't

all the shoes have different sizing

  6. if ur buying online they usually have fitting charts where i go... my dance teacher fits ours to us and then we just buy them from her...I think things turn out better that way. they dont turn out bad if you do buy them online, but they usually fit better to you personally if you get them fitted to you. like i said though. sizing charts are usually there online...t like discount dance.com and allaboutdance.com...hope this helped!
