How do u lock an sks bolt action back?

I cant the thebolt to lock and stay back. It always goes forward.

The magazine must be emtpy, the follower holds the bolt back.  If it does not something is wrong.

There is a little bolt stop that is located at the rear of the magazine that the mag follower pushes up against and it holds the bolt open. If it is not working, it's likely dirty or gummed up with gunk. Take it apart and blast it with some cleaner until it slides freely, then oil and you are set to go. If that does not work, you need more tension on the mag spring.
