  1. is it a female? if so...shes probably digging in her food bowl because she needs to lay eggs (solo female birds can still lay eggs but there not fertilized) and may be egg-binding....or like the other people said, its probably calling for a mate....but males are alot more vocal than females. my bird used to dig in her food bowl alot and when a i put a nest box in there she laid eggs

  2. your bird could be lonley or just bored. I would spend some time with it if you can, and also allow it to be out of the cage at least an hour a day. Also make sure they bird has plenty of toys to play with when it is in the cage. What type of bird is it?

  3. try covering the cage, sometimes the dark is calming for birds. also, sometimes other noises cause birds to make noises, so make sure she's in a quiet place

  4. some common reasons that bird scream and misbehave is

They are bored... this mean either they don't have enough toys or have to much.

put a small amount and every week change out for new one and clean old with germicidal bleach and put up.

bird is not eating enough try changing food and always try to use fresh too.

Bird is not getting enough rest at night bird need 10 to 12 hours of rest at night a dark area or a cover.

these are some of the things l read and have had experience with hope it helps.

  5. Well to stop the squaking we usually place a sheet over the cage so the bird will think it is night time and will sleep.

My parakeet and finch become quiet when I making a "shh" noise at them. Mainly because I am trying to sleep and they are annoying me.

The food nudging. The only thing I can say is try to get a different brand of food and possibly a new bowl for it. She may just be picky.

  6. Is she by herself in a cage? If so, she might be lonely and calling out for a mate. If you don't want to get another bird, give her a mirror. This then occupies them and they will quietly chatter to themselves.

And with the food issue, does she like that food? Apparently Trill doesn't provide all the nutrients birds need. So maybe try another brand of food.

  7. Usually when my cockatoo starts squawking it's because he's bored, maybe try putting some more toys in your birds cage.

  8. shoot it
