  1. good luck

  2. What You Need is..

        * 6 cups flour,2 cups salt,4 tablespoons cooking oil, warm water,

plastic soda bottle, dish washing detergent, food coloring, vinegar,

baking dish or other pan, 2 T baking soda

    #   First make the 'cone' (montain)of the baking soda volcano. Mix 6

cups flour, 2 cups salt, 4 tablespoons cooking oil, and 2 cups of

water. The resulting mixture should be smooth and firm (more water

        may be added if needed).

    #  Stand the soda bottle in the baking pan

and mold the dough around it into a volcano shape. Don't cover the

hole or drop dough into it.

    #  Fill the bottle most of the way full with warm water and a bit of red

food color (can be done before sculpting if you don't take so long

         that the water gets cold).

    #   Add 6 drops of detergent to the bottle contents.

    #   Add 2 tablespoons baking soda to the liquid.

    #   Slowly pour vinegar into the bottle. Watch out - eruption time!

    TIP:

Adding a bit of food coloring will result in red-orange lava!

  3. Okay, the baking soda volcano is the kitchen equivalent of a volcano, not a real one. It's cool all the same! The baking soda volcano is also more or less non-toxic, which adds to its appeal.

First make the 'cone' of the baking soda volcano. Mix 6 cups flour, 2 cups salt, 4 tablespoons cooking oil, and 2 cups of water. The resulting mixture should be smooth and firm (more water may be added if needed)..Stand the soda bottle in the baking pan and mold the dough around it into a volcano shape. Slowly pour vinegar into the bottle. Watch out - eruption time! i also think u could make a out part with chicken wire n paper masha ove top and put bottle inside it then do the instuctions   parents help of course

  4. This project shows kids what happens when an acid (vinegar) and a base (baking soda) interact. Chemically, the acid and base neutralize each other, producing carbon dioxide gas as a byproduct. The exact reaction is:

    HC2H3O2 (vinegar = acetic acid) + NaHCO3 (baking soda = sodium bicarbonite) = CO2 (carbon dioxide gas) + NaC2H3O2(sodium acetate) + H2O (water)

Supplies: Old aluminum pie tin (or baking pan or paper plate)

    Lots of old newspaper

    Baking soda (about 3-4 tablespoons)

    Vinegar (about 1/2 cup)

A few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent

Small plastic bottle (like a small pop bottle)

Modeling clay (for a clay recipe, click here)

    Funnel

    Measuring spoon and measuring cup

    Red food coloring

    Glitter (optional)

Put the clean, empty bottle on the aluminum pie plate (or baking pan or paper plate).

Using the modeling clay, make a volcano around the bottle. Leave the area around the top of the bottle open and don't get any clay inside the bottle.

You can decorate the volcano with little twigs, lichens (that look like tiny trees), etc.

Using the funnel (make sure it's dry), put 3 to 4 tablespoons of baking soda into the bottle. The add a few drops of liquid dishwashing detergent and about a half cup of water. Optional: add a little bit of glitter (about half a teaspoon).

Put a few drops of red food coloring into about one-half of a cup of vinegar.

The Eruption: Using the funnel, pour the vinegar mixture into the bottle (then quickly remove the funnel).

Your volcano will erupt immediately! When the vinegar reacts with the baking soda, carbon dioxide gas is formed and the bubbles push the "lava" out the "volcano."

    Be prepared for a mess!

  5. THINGS YOU WILL NEED

    *Empty 2-liter bottle

    *Spray or acrylic paints

    *Clear sealant

    *Baking soda

    *Liquid dish soap

    *White vinegar

    *Brushes

*Paper mache paste or salt dough or plaster

    *Plywood sheet

    *Newspaper

    *Red food coloring

    STEPS

    1. Use a sheet of plywood at least 8 inches wider and longer than your planned volcano to make the base, to prevent the lava from staining surfaces during eruptions.

2 Use salt dough, plaster or papier-mâché to form a mountain around an empty 2-liter bottle placed upright at the center of the plywood base. Be sure to leave the lid off.

    3. Form the model volcano's open top tightly around the mouth of the bottle.

    4. Make ridges and channels beginning at the volcano's top and ending at the base of the volcano for the lava to flow through

5.Let the volcano dry completely, then paint it with acrylics or spray paint. Plastic aquarium plants can be clipped and glued to the volcano for trees

    6. Spray the volcano and plywood with a clear sealant after the paint has dried

    7. Mix 1 tbsp. liquid dish washing soap, 1 tbsp. baking soda and a few drops of red food coloring in a cup.

    8. Pour the mixture carefully into the bottle.

    9. Set your valcano in an open area, my best suggestion would be outside so it doesn't make a mess in your home.

    10. Pour 1/4 c. white vinegar into the bottle and stand back to watch your volcano erupt!

  6. You take a tectonic plate and subduct it beneath another tectonic plate. The subducting plate melts; the resulting magma rises up and you have a volcano.

Unless you mean a MODEL volcano, then you do something different.
