  1. you make boiled rice except you mix it with a fried egg

sorry. probably should have explained mor.

    boil rice

put it in a frying pan.

    pour in egg.

    fry

  2. 2 things:

    1) MSG - as someone else has mentioned

    2) the flame - notice how high the flame is at chinese restaurants, it gives it that real 'fried' flavour

  3. the secret is starting with cold, cooked rice. it can withstand the frying without becoming a gummy mass.

  4. its is a secret!!!!! unless you are chinese i CANNOT TELL YOU. to all you other chinese people out there please do not tell them our secret otherwise they will send us back to china!!! WE ARE NOTHING WITHOUT OUR RICE!!!

  5. To make fried rice.....you need crushed garlic, onion, shrimps, beaten egg, soy sauce, scallions and cooked rice.

Heat the oil (peanut oil or canola) in a wok or frying pan and fry the garlic until brown and fragrant but don't burn.

Add the onion and cooked until glossy, then add the cut shrimps (without the shell and the head) and cook until colour changes.

Then add the rice and fry for a few minutes, mixing all ingredients together. Add soy sauce according to your taste (too much will make it salty).

Add the beaten egg and mix well with the rice so that the egg is cooked in small pieces. Continue mixing until egg is cooked.

If you want your fried rice to be a little moist, you can add a little chicken stock after you add the rice.

Lastly add the scallions and serve! Enjoy it!

  6. *That mmm..... taste comes from an ingredient called the MSG or 'ajinomoto' !!!!

Only a pinch or two of it suffices ...... it is added at the time wn u are frying the vegetables !!!

PS : but the frequent use of MSG is harmful for health and shd not be given to infants below 2 years !!!!

  7. Use groundnut oil, star by dropping a beaten egg in the oil and just as it starts setting add enough boiled white rice for 2, stir like mad and add 1 tablespoon of soya sauce. When the egg has set completely your egg rice is done.  Do not add salt or pepper, it doesn't need it.
