How do u measue a rool of toilet paper(tissue) with out un-rolling it??

All i've got is a toilet paper no other dimensions!

  1. Measure one sheet of toilet paper then multiply that amount by the number of sheets as stated on the package.


  2. Take the weight one full roll.

    Now take weight its pulley.

    Now you can measure by weighing another roll.

You have to know the thickness of the paper, from measuring one sheet or several.  Then the length of the paper on the roll is the integral of the circumference from the inside diameter to the outside diameter by difference between the ID&OD divided by the thickness to get the number of thicknesses.   I did it in college when I had a partial reel of 1/2 mill mylar audio tape and wanted to know the length and thus the recording time available.

  4. Good question. Maybe, measure the diameter with precise calipers, unroll it partway, measure the length of the unrolled portion, and then with precise calipers measure the diameter again and see if there is a relationship.
