  1. You have to be 18 (otherwise you need an adult co-signer).

Go to the bank with some form of Government ID

Fill out the form, make a deposit.

    You have an account.

  2. go to the bank and say i would like to open a bank account

  3. Research what bank you want to hold your money: what interest rate do they pay? is there a minimum amount you must have in the account to avoid penalty fees? are the amounts the same for a savings and a checking account? are there branches near your job and near your home? are there enough atms nearby so you can use their debit card for free? etc. etc

find out the minimum needed to open an account, which can be anywhere from $5.00 to $500.00

bring two forms of id - at least 1 picture - and proof of address, a utility bill or credit card bill should do. Better yet, after you've picked the bank you want to do business with, call and ask what you need to bring in order to open an account.

  4. Choose your bank and go in. Talk to a person which will give you all the information you need. Be sure that you understand all bank fees, minimum balances, check fees, etc. before opening your account. And shop around, not all banks are the same. You must have driver's license for ID, social security card, your minimum deposit and most banks (yes mine does this) do a credit check to see if you are a high risk.

  5. Go to a bank you like and ask them to open a savings.

Remember you must be 18 to enter a legal contract. If you are under 18 you need a parent to be on your account as well.

If you are over 18 you need a drivers license or passport as well as a secondary form of ID.

    Good luck and happy saving!!!!!

  6. id,social security number and make a deposit and sign some papers
