  1. Well, I Pick my spot, aim, hold the ball in my left hand, pull back like a cobra with my right as my knees slightly bend and then,....LET THE COBRA STRIKE!  BOO-YAW! ALL DAY. THEY ARM WILL STING IF THEY CAN SEE IT. HA.

  2. I think that an important thing to keep in mind is to make it a "straight line" serve.  Imagine that you are serving in a long hallway and you only have 3 inches of space between you and the walls on each side.  This forces you to keep your whole body, including arm movements, within a narrow space, and you will hit it directly above your body and not to one side or the other.  You also can't flail around and hit it with your arm at an angle.  (If you know anything about baseball, it is the same principle as in pitching:  go over the top, not at an angle).

  3. throw it up and step in too it and hit it

  4. If you're right handed:  Stand 45-90 Degree to the side with your left foot in front of the right.  Ball on the left hand and extend the hand in front of your body.  Throw the ball straight up so it is infront of you (if you throw the ball but don't hit the ball, it should land on your left hand again. So throw it in front of your body and then step forward with the right foot and your right arm moving forward.  You are making a stepping motion.  this gives you power because you're using your body forward motion to hit the ball.

As far as what part of the hand to use for the overhead serve, it depends on your ability.  The easiest but less precise way would be using the bottom of the palm (where there's bone).  If you want more precision and have some power, you have to use your cupped hands. Cupping is like trying to take a drink of water from your hand.  I hope this makes a little sense to you.  Good luck.

  5. well first you need to make sure your release is right. you should toss the ball over your head. you should be able to hit it with your arm totally stretched overhead. ant lower and its no good. you should hit the ball with a totally flat hand. if you don't have the power to get it over try it with a fist. if you do this; make sure you make a totally flat contact with the ball. if you hit it with the side of your hand it will most likely go out of bounds. and always remember PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!!!!!! :) good luck and keep practicing!

  6. You throw the ball up straight above of you (slightly infront of you as well) and you don't throw it too high up but not too far down.. You keep your hand open and you use your legs as well..

in basketball it's easy to see that your legs to half of your throwing

the same idea is in volleyball

use your legs and push into that serve (my words may sound wrong but maybe ask a coach to show you..once you get it it's soo easy)

    hope i hhelped =)

  7. once you start to get the ball over the net, toss the ball a little more in front of you and you can get a harder serve that is more difficult to recieve.

  8. It's easy put the ball in your left hand (if your right hand) and throw it up in the air and them bring your right arm up and over and either chop the ball with the side of your hand or use the palm of your hand and spite it hard over the net...You have to learn control...With alot of pratice you can do this and make a winner out of yourself...I like the chopping with the side of my hand and learn to control the ball...That was my #one sport in my younger years....Have fun and enjoy the sport...

  9. if right hand, keep the ball left hand, lift it above and hit with right hand
