ummm ya kinda need a guitar firsst of all

and u cant just be told how to play

u need to learn all the strings and notes and

scales first its a very complicated instrument

There is a lot involved with learning the basics.. I highly recommend taking lessons.

Hey I just started takin lesson a month ago and im doin really good now! I learned 9 chords in 2 lessons!! the first strumming pattern I learned was down down down up down up. I like to use a pick instead of my fingers

your fingers are 1(index), 2(middle), 3(ring), 4(pinky).

D CHORD:  put finger 1 on the 3rd string from the bottom (2nd fret). finger 2 in the bottom string(2nd fret) and finger 3 on the second string from the bottom(3rd fret) strum all strings except the top

string.

Em CHORD: put finger 1 on the 2nd string from the top(2nd fret) and finger 2 on the 3rd string from the top (2nd fret) strum all strings.

G CHORD: put finger 1 on 2nd string from the top(2nd fret) finger 3 on the top string(3rd fret) and finger 4 on the bottom string (3rd fret)

There! now you know 3 chords! I hope you weren't too confused. When you want to know more chords you can look on google! just type in the chord names that you want to learn!

I highly suggest lessons. I take lessons for guitar and it's great!
