I want to print a word document so that it prints all formatting.

For example a space is represented by a . (dot)

Another eg - the enter key is represented by a symbol that looks a bit like the letter q, but the circle is coloured in, and there are 2 vertical lines, not one. Does this make sense?... probably not, but it will make sense if you know what I am talking about.

  1. At the top of word, you can press the insert tab,

and in the drop down menu, there is a "symbols" button.

  2. Those formatting symbols won't normally print no matter what you do, but you can fake the ¶ (end of paragraph) symbols by inserting one just before the real ¶ symbols.

    To insert them, do this:

    1. Make sure your keyboard is in NumLock mode.

    2. Hold down the ALT key and enter the number 20 on the numeric keypad.  (Note that many laptops have a blue FN key that changes a set of keys, also with blue numbers on them, into a numeric keypad.)

Can't help you with the other characters, though.

  3. I assume you want to print the document with all the symbols - for whatever reason, right?

Open the document with all those symbols displayed. Then press the "PrtSc" key (that's PrintScreen). Now open any image editing software - even Paint which is a part of Windows would do. In that window, press Ctrl-V. You will see an image showing the word document. You will also see the menu bars and maybe parts of your desktop. Select these and delete them. What you'll be left with would be the image of your document. Print it.

Of course this will work only if the document can be fitted into a single window.
