You can use a CO2 cartridge like you put into a CO2 pellet pistol.  Fix the top of the cartridge so that it faces the back of the boat.  You just have to anchor the cartridge onto the boat sa that it is straight horizontally and vertically.  When you rupture the foil on top of the cartridge, it will act like a torpedo and shoot off pushing your boat forward. The number of cartridges will determine how fast or far the boat goes.  Also, with more than one cartridge, you have to figure out how to rupture all the cartridges at once.
