How do u read a Megger Digital Earth Tester? If the display showed .465, how would you say/read that?

  1. reddogsr:I researched the Megger DET5/4R thru Google. It looks like the measuring range is from .01 ohm to 19.99 k ohms,(k=1000). Since the display showed .465 ohms, I would think that reading would be less than 1/2 of an ohm. I think that any reading to the right of the decimal point would be like . tenths, hundreths, thousands of an ohm. Since the meter can measure as low as .01 (one hundreth of an ohm & up) then your .465 becomes 4hundred 65thousands of 1 ohm. You should be able to substitute a fixed resistor of say 1/2 ohm across the measuring terminals to verify my assumptions.  exbelltel
