almost all batteries will recharge to some degree. however each type and size of battery  require a specifically designed recharger thingy.

academically a bigger battery will recharge a smaller one. but it is not something i would try to explain, you could get hurt if you get it wrong.

rechargeable batteries in the correct charger is the way to go.

Unfortunately, unlike other devices plugged into your computer's USB port, your camera will not pull a charge from the USB cable. Your only alternative is to replace your battery charger. You can probably find a reasonably priced one on ebay. Search for your camera's model number and name and battery charger in the search window.
