How do u replace the lights in your dash? The light behind the tachometer is out.?

Its a 99 ford taurus.

  1. The hard part is to remove the radio/ temp. controls (need to poke something small into all four of the holes at once), then just remove all of the plastic bezel's various small screws, then the cover around the steering column (may be torx bits), then the bezel's around the instrument cluster, then the cluster its held in by four small bolts or screws.  after removing the cluster just pop the bulbs out by twisting them counterclockwise and pull the bulbs out of the holders and replace the stuff like you took it out.  the radio will not go in if you don't put it on it's track.


  2. The Taurus dash is no fun - it usually requires removing the cluster to get to the bulbs to replace them... unless you have a slender double jointed monkey arm! I do not deny it can be done - but extremely difficult!
