    Most have timing marks on the flywheel, and a pointer, which you line up with the #1 piston TDC.

    WOT timing has to be set in a test tank with a test wheel, (or else running down the lake at WOT standing over the motor with your timing light.) -- try to do it with no load on the motor it'll be way off.

    If you have an OMC outboard with electronic ignition and without the "fast start" feature, I have a procedure to set WOT timing at cranking speed, just ask.

    But, unless you taken the flywheel off, or moved the timing advance stop s***w, you shouldn't need to re-time.
