How do u search/find people or friends you know on yahoo messenger???

Question

I wanna search for my friends on here so I can see if they have yahoo or something so i can talk to them too. HELP ME OUT! thanks

Check whether you want to search by real name or Yahoo ID.

Yahoo Messenger is customizable by the user.  The user can choose to appear offline all the time, or can disable Yahoo Messenger so that the user cannot be messaged.  

If the user has chosen to hide his/her Yahoo email address and profile name (Yahoo ID) from the public, it will not be searchable.  Unless you know their Yahoo ID, (and unless the user has made it publicly searchable), you will not be able to find them on Yahoo.

To customize whether your Yahoo Messenger ID appears to others, sign into Yahoo. Click on "My Account."  Click on "Edit/Create Profiles."  Check or uncheck the box that says "Hide my online status from other users."
