  1. Are you talking about by hand or with a machine?  If by machine, it should have a buttonhole program in it where all you do is push the buttonhole button and let the machine go about it's business.  If it is an older machine without this option, then mark where you want the buttonhole with a pencil, and do a very close zig zag stitch the length of the buttonhole, take about 4 wider zig zag stitches, and then go back to the close zig zag and go in reverse on the right side of the wide zig zag stitches.  When you get back to the top of the first zig zag line you made, take another 4 wider stitches, and you are sone.  If you are doing it by hand, cut the buttonhole as big as you want it where you want it, and then do a very close blanket stitch around the hole.

  3. What type do you want to make?  A plain buttonhole?  Keyhole?   Bound?  Spanish snap?

And by hand or by machine?

  5. Hi...Iylena here again.  All you have to do is to put the button where you want it first, then line up the spot where you're going to cut a slit on the other side of the "shirt".  Make sure they line up with each other, then just take your needle and thread and sew completely around the hole, till it is closed up.  Choose what kind of stitch you want, regular, or you know, "inside the threaded hole."  Good luck...Easy Peezy...
