if you buy a shirt that has sequences on it and the label says to hand wash cold, and lay flat to dry. what do you do if you want it to shrink because when i wore it the first time it stretched out a little and it is suppossed to be tight fitting. washing it and layin it out will make it stretch more if anything

  1. This is how I wash and dry many of the  "hand wash" "lay flat to dry"  items to get them to tidy up on the shape... I run them through the gentle cycle in a mesh bag. cool or cold water.  To Dry I take most things out of the mesh bag, I put them in the dryer on NO heat and tumble dry 20 minutes for most sweaters, less for blouses, lingerie & silk. Then I lay them to dry. I have had much success with this method. I do use Woolite hand wash soap so that they do not fade or have too harsh of a chemical on them.

  2. Uhh... Hmm.  Sequins is a hard call, but I would probably wash it in hot water and tumble dry low?  The heat is what shrinks an item of clothing, but I'm not sure how secure the sequins is.  You might end up with a machine full of sparklies.

Or wash in hot water on the delicate cycle and then lay flat to dry?
