  1. 3x +y

  2. OK you have to simplify so you have, 6x+3y over 2x+3y =3x+y over x +y=  3

  3. 6x divided by 2x is 3, 3y divided by 3y is 1, 3x+y.

  4. you go to yahoo answers

  5. Well dont separate the denominator like alot of these answerers suggest. :)

It can't be simplified, but you can break up the fraction:

    4x

    _____  + 1

    2x+3y

Maybe it's slightly more elegant that way? I won't be the judge.

  6. well

    6x+3y

    -------

    2x + 3y

    divide each separately

    so

    6x divided by 2x would be 3

and 3y divided by 37 would be 1

    so the answer is 3+1

    here's the check

    2x + 3y times 3+1 is 6x + 3y

    this is 100% correct

  7. You can't simply divide each variable separately!  Whatever answer you get, you should test it with possible numbers...

    (6x + 3y) / (2x + 3y)

    You can do

    6x/(2x + 3y) + 3y(2x + 3y)

    but that's about it.

    Other answers are saying

    3x + 1

    But, check if x = 2 and y = 3

    6*2 + 3*3 = 12 + 9 = 21

    2*2 + 3*3 = 4 + 9 = 12

The original equation results in 21/12 or 7/4

    3*2 + 1 = 7

As you can see, this is an invalid solution.

You can't simplify the expression any further than when you started.

  8. i think 6x divided by 2x is 3x, and 3y divided by 3y is one, so it becomes 3x+y.

  9. it can not be simplified.

  10. Can't be simplified other than factoring out 3 in the numerator or separating the fraction.

    3(2x + y)

    -------------------

    (2x+3y)

    Separating : (6x)/(2x+3y) + (3y) / (2x+3y)

    Good luck to you !

  11. I believe the 3y's cancel out eachother and equal 1y, or y.  Then you just have 6x over 2x, which equals 3x + y.
