too many people think that yakking away at the other shooter will help them distract that person like Minnesota fats used to do  minimal talent, maximum mouth.  Willie Marconi, who fats would never play for the big money, was a perfect gentleman until you crossed up.  He never spoke until the shooter was done with his inning if he spoke at all.  Good run of thumb is that you never talk before or while someone is shooting and yo stand out of their line of sight for the shot.  Now if it is a good friend or mine I will keep a running commentary about their shooting because they will about mine and that is a good way to toughen yourself up mentally and if it  a student of mine I wait until they have taken three shoots and see if they repeat any of their mistake several times then stop them and explain and demonstrate.  best over all answer  when it doubt  don't let a sound out.
