How do u tell a large mouth bass minnow from a blue gill minnow?

  1. If you see a bass minnow, you will have no trouble telling that iit is a bass.   The shape and color and black stripe down the middle are obvious.


  2. You mean a bluegill/bass fingerling. A minnow is a family of fish like carp and shiners.

  3. here you go mate:

    since both are dark topped that isn't a good technique

    the bass are longer and have an immediately visible black line going up and down on the back end of their tail.

    the sunfish like bluegill redear and crappie are rounder and certainly have a more pointed snout, wider tails with a serpentine back end of thier tails and much smaller jaws resulting in much smaller mouths

  4. A bass "minnow" is longer and slender.

    A blue gill "minnow" is wider and shorter.
