  1. Has it got up and nipped down to the fridge in the middle of the night for some chocolate?

    If so, its pregnant...

  2. she may start "nesting"

ripping out her fur.. and grabbing stuff to make a nest with.. pieces of paper.. cloth material..

she may get moody.. one of my female bunnies use to get really mean and nasty when she was pregnant..

  3. Between ten to fourteen days after mating, you can check the female for pregnancy. The easiest way to do this is to gently palpate the lower abdomen with your thumb and forefinger. If she is pregnant, you will be able to feel marble-sized lumps in her lower abdomen.

The gestation period for domestic rabbits is approximately thirty-one days, but may vary by two days either way. During her pregnancy, the doe will grow plumber, but doesn’t require a change in diet. Don’t give her any new foods or increase the amount you feed her.

  4. She is only pregnant if someone elses pet rabbit got loose and was running free too.

Rabbits, although not impossible, but more so unheard of that a domesticated rabbit and wild rabbit's won't mate with each other. Rabbits in the wild have their warren of females and the males do not normally leave the warren other than for foraging.

Palpation is the only way to find out if a rabbit is bred, other than actually waiting to see her have babies.  You can have a rabbit knowledge vet or breeder palpate.

The rabbit's gestation is 31 days on average.  After two weeks, her belly will swell and within the last week to few days before kindling, she will start to show more signs like restlessness, going off feed, laying down more, pulling hair/gathering material to make a nest and attitude change.

Rabbit's can go through a pseudo pregnancy or false pregnancy where they will show all these signs, but not actually be pregnant but their hormone levels are high that they think they are.

If you want to take the precautions just in case, mark your calendar for the 31 days from the first day she disappeared and watch for signs and give her nesting material and a nesting box.

  5. The overall preferred method is to palpate the lower abdomen of the doe with your thumb and forefinger checking for nodules about the size of a marble. The other method is not only more risky but also more inaccurate. This method is to mate the doe with the buck again. This can cause problems because the doe has two uterine horns, each of which can carry babies. It is possible for one horn to be fertilized on the first mating and the second to be fertilized on the second mating. This will create a hormonal imbalance and cause the babies in both uteri to not form right, causing her to pass blobs instead of babies at the date of kindling. There is also a chance these "mummified" blobs could cause complications leading to the death of the doe.

When they get close to kindling, they will have increased amount of fur under and around the neck (they pull this fur out to make a nest), also by this time you should be able to see her nipples.

It takes approximately 31 days for the litter to be born.

  6. it goes fat and eats more and becomes tired

  7. if it eats trix

  8. Julie has the right answer but if you dont know what you arefeeling for you can miss it

  9. She pops out a bunch of babies then gets pregnant from her sons and has more babies and the daughters and sons have babies.......... You are so screwed!

  10. You cant really tell with rabbits.  I use to breed them.

Your first sign will be if she starts to make a nest, pulls all her bedding in to one corner and starts pulling her fur out to line it. As the babies or kits are born very small its hard to tell phycially with rabbits.  If you really want to know talk to your vet.

    All the best
