  1. Suggest Mangos or Guavas "for a nice change of pace" to whoever it is that's serving you this.

  2. No thank you. I'm allergic to papaya

No thank you. I just ate.

    Just say No thank you

  3. Its never polite when someone goes to effort to make dinner or even an attempt.  Personally I am the worst cook, so if I did be happy...Back to your question on what should be but yet remain gracious...Now my friend we all have small allergies and our tummies can only deal with so much, hence we as miss manners would say, graciously and in private tell our host it ( I do think judith martin is so classy even with a martinni)

    Allergies and side-effects

Caution should be taken when harvesting, as papaya is known to release a latex fluid when not quite ripe, which can cause irritation and provoke allergic reaction in some people. The papaya fruit, seeds, latex, and leaves also contains carpaine, an anthelmintic alkaloid which could be dangerous in high doses.

Here is your very polite out, it causes you a reaction, and as said quietly , advise your host. , understood you do not want to insult so a quiet word, using the above will work,,,,,,i enjoyed your question

  4. Do the sandwich approach. Tell your host, what is the good thing about papaya then the bad thing if you eat too much papaya, suggest some fruit that you want and how it is being served so that your host will have room for his imagination and consideration to try new one.
