  1. My opinion is that RJ will have a banner year. Can't say much about the other 3 jocks, though.

  2. Hi asp,

Johnson will definitely put up better numbers in 2008 than 2007, if he can stay healthy.  A hamstring injury put Johnson out of commission in 2007, but word out of camp is that he has completely healed.

I wouldn't expect Johnson to be a stud this year, but I think he could be a serviceable #2 back.  You only concern with Johnson is that he lose significant carries to Watson and Irons, which is a definite possibility.

Branch tore his ACL in the first round of the playoffs and they don't even know if he'll be ready by the season's start.  Kevin Smith is a rookie and they hardly every produce in their first year, plus the Lions have Tatum Bell.

If I were you I'd pull the trigger on this trade real fast as you'd essentially be robbing the guy on the other end of the trade.  If you click on the link in my source list, you'll see that I have Rudi and Mason ranked much higher than Smith and Branch.  On my site you can also create your own player rankings using drag and drop.  It's free.

  3. Well it's good you don't care about Branch leaving since he isn't going to play this year.  It all hinges on who your other running backs are.  I am sad to say that I think Rudi is on the downside of his career.  If Kenny Watson is available as a free agent, I would make the trade and then drop someone (even Mason) and pick up Watson.  Then if Rudi does have a comeback year, it's all good and if he doesn't, it's still all good.
