  1. Guinea pigs don't really walk on leashes and it is not recommended to bring it out for a walk or anything. Guinea pigs like to stay indoors so you shouldn't.

  2. GUENEA PIGS CAN BE TAKEN ON WALKS =]

Well i have two rabbits and I walk them everyday, and they absalutly love it. My rabbits are still bunnies they are 9 weeks old they love to run around and that thats why i had to buy them a longer leash. I mean when ever i dont want them to go somewhere i just hold the leash and if my buns want to go their and they're not allowed well they cant haha so now they've learnt if I tug the leashs it means i they cant go there. P.s its not a good idea taking TWO rabbits on a walk ( dnt no about gueneas though ) I hope that helped. oh and make sure you get proper guinea pig harnesses.

  3. You cannnot.

    It is not a dog!

    He will not walk

on a leash no matter what.

    And they do not like

    it either.

  4. I don't think that is possible.

They are guinea pigs, not dogs.

    But you could always try!

  5. I've never heard of a guinea pig walking on a leash before =)

I'd suggest getting a pig used to the leash at as young an age as possible and offering lots of treats if you can get it to walk with the leash on.

But remember that pigs aren't dogs so your piggie might decide that he/she doesn't want to wear a leash and no amount of coaxing will get them to walk with a leash on (Guinea pigs can be very stubborn!).

  6. What? They should just do it automatically. Anyway why would you want to do that? by the way um terresa cat lover guineapigs don't like to be inside, they like to be outside.

  7. This type of exercise / behaviour is not natural for a guinea pig - I doubt it is possible to train a piggie to walk on a leash, and it is unlikely he would enjoy it.

And PLEASE do not try it! If your piggie gets spooked and tries to run he could break his back. Leashes are extremely dangerous!

  8. Use a food lure that he really likes so he understands that moving with you gets him good things!

  9. u can't...

my first guinea pig would walk on a leash, just like a dog..but I had to return her because she was being evil and stuff...

Now I have three different guinea pigs, who won't walk on a leash. Even with training. I'd say the best you could get would be putting one on a leash and having it repetatly walk a small amount of distance (guide it to where you want it to go). Afterwards, give it a treat, or even place a treat where you want it to walk to.

If it doesn't walk, don't force it...just take it out for some grass.

But anyways...all guinea pigs are different...some will and some won't...but good luck.

  10. Guinea pigs cannot be trained to walk on a leash like a cat or dog. Although pet stores will sell leashes designed for "small animals" like rabbits, ferrets, and guinea pigs, Guinea Pigs should *never* be put on a leash due to the potential spinal or neck injuries that could occur when it bolts from fright.  Take the leash back to the pet store & get your money back.

Guinea pigs should be kept indoors in a constant temperature of between 70 and 75 degrees fahrenheit. Piggies can have heatstroke in as little as 85 degrees, so you should use extreme caution when taking your piggie outside. Make sure the temperature is not too hot.

Just in case you didn't know, never put your guinea pig in a rolling ball either. They can cause severe spinal injuries.

  11. just put a leash on it and tug lightly if it wont go
