  1. Get a reining trainer.  It can't be explained properly via the internet.

  2. There are many books on teaching your horse the maneuvers.

Bob Avila being a good one to learn from, if you can't afford a trainer. Taking lessons is another alternative and is recommend even if you do the books just because it is much more interactive and they can better pinpoint a specific problem.

  3. Well the best way to get experience and learn is if you research this stuff yourself..trust me you will know alot more stuff then asking people to do it for you....if your going to ask us might as well hire somebody to train your horse for you.

  4. It starts out on the ground, teaching flexibility and responsiveness.  Then it progresses to work under saddle, usually with the horse fitted with a bosal as many of the moves are learned using the rider's seat and leg cues.  The horse is finally bitted and finished in the bit as a performance horse ready for the show arena.  It's a beautiful thing!

To get started, get your hands on every training tape, book, and anything else you can.  When you can afford it, find a good trainer experienced in the reining arena to work with you.  Go to reining competitions and soak it in.  Everyone has to start somewhere.
