How do u use memorex dvd-r cds that are blank because i wanna burn a music video and its doesn't let me?

its just doesn't find the disc and the computer says that their isn't any cd in their

does it read a cd, that has something on it? If not then it maybe the laser, meaning the cd burner is bad.  but if the cd burner can read a cd that has something on it maybe it needs a dvd+r, is that possible

Are you sure it is a dvd burner and not just a dvd rom/cd burner? Add the model # of your disk drive to get better answers.
