Question:

How do vegas dealers use 6 decks?

Like in blackjack, they're using 6 decks (I think) so does that mean that it would be possible to two ace of diamonds (or any other pair of the same card) show up during the same turn? Or are the decks seperated from eachother somehow?

  1. It is possible to get two A of Diamonds in the same hand.

  2. It's just as it sounds.  They shuffle up six decks of cards and place them all in a shoe.  They then deal the cards right out of that shoe until a predetermined point, part way though the deck.  Then the cards are shuffled and put back in the shoe.

It is possible to have two identical cards,  In fact in theory it would be possible to have six ace of spades in the same hand.  In Blackjack that would be 11+1+1+1+1+1=16.  Of course the odds of being dealt six identical cards from the shoe are really really remote.  But it doesn't hurt the game in any way, because in Blackjack the suit doesn't matter.

  3. yes, they use 6 decks , so it is possible to get 6 same valued card.

The only case when the decks are "separated somehow" is when the player uses the catting card... This must be done after every shuffle. As soon as the dealer reaches the cutting card in the shoe (after the deal), she/he shuffles the cards again.
