well the effect can be seen in many ways!!

over crowding in one place of humans will result in the depletion of the environmental resources, including, scarcity of food, lost of species of important animal and plants, lack of water..........therefore as a result you may end up with starvation, disease break outs, and other stuff.

a low volume will cause the same thing to happen but in a longer period of time unless the regrowth of the environmental object is the same as or more then the rate at which it is being used as.

because of increase in population, instead of using land for planting, the tendency is we build our houses,, the more people, the greater the pollution,,

people also tend to get its basic needs from the environment... overpopulation will cause in the decrease of supply for our basic needs,,

this will cause diminishing return,,
