My husband is from Bosnian origins and we are looking to adopt a child from there. I need to know if that is possible and if there are any orphanages that we can visit during out trip there.

  1. There is some helpful Info on this site:

  2. Have you ever been to Bosnia?  Do you or your husband speak the language?  (Although, the Bosnian people are well-educated, and many speak impressively good English.)  I would say that you should contact your country's embassy or consulate in Sarajevo.  They should be able to give you the names and addresses of orphanages.  They most certainly do exist.  I volunteered at one on a weekly basis...and the directors were desperately trying to place the children and take care of them in the meantime.  However, I have no idea what the process of adopting a Bosnian child would entail.  All I know is that foreigners were allowed to adopt.  Again, your embassy should be able to advise you.

  3. There was an orphanage  near the town of Tuzla.I'm not sure what is the name of it,I forgot.Maybe you can google it. I hope it helps some.
