How do we get a UK mortgage from overseas?

My husband works in Zambia & is South African. I have a British passport but do not work. We would like to get a mortgage for a UK property (yet to be sourced), pay a decent deposit, pay the mortgage from Zambia (via our offshore bank account) for two or three years and then pay off the balance in a lump sum when we move to the UK.

Who is it best to contact about this, what advice can anyone give us? Useful websites, etc? Thanks.

ask any bank the same question and i'm sure they'll give you a straight answer, unless its a scam

Yes, go into any bank and ask to speak to a financial adviser - you may have to make an appointment.
