  1. You need to be a zoo, wildlife conservation or rehabilitation/sanctuary facility in order to get a permit to keep a big cat.

On top of the federal license, you'll also need a state license, which will only come after they inspect your property and proposed living quarters and enclosures for the animal, and that's only if your local government will give you a permit to build said enclosures on your property.

Other than the fact it's cruel and inhumane to keep a wild animal as a pet,... do you have the 10 to 15 million dollars needed to get the permits and build the proper housing for it?

Or are you just planning to be one of those egotistical b******s that buys a infant lion cub on the black market? One that's way too young to have been taken from it's mother, but why should the poachers give a d**n when there's scumbags with money looking for a "toy" to satisfy their ego?

  2. How cruel.  I cannot understand anyone wanting to domesticate an animal that is meant to be in the wild in it's own habitat.

Please consider how you would feel if whisked away from your home and country to have to live in Antartica (or some place completely foreign to you and all that you know.)

Lions are meant to live in prides, to stalk and hunt in the wild, to be FREE!

Don't doom a lion to your egotistcal desires.  Please.

  3. Well, you did asked how to get a license so here's a great website which lay out the law and ownership of exotic pets in different part of the country.

    Good Luck!
