  1. Biofuels come from fermenting plant material to produce alcohol.  Alcohol is not as energy intesive as petroleum distillates, so it may be combined with them until there are engines that are designed for pure ethanol.  It can also be distilled (boiled and condensed) to get rid of water and other contaminants.

There are several types of alcohol.  Ethanol is more popular because it is less toxic, but methanol may be a more efficient fuel.  But there is still debate about how cost effective any biofuel production system is, when you figure in the energy it takes to plant, grow, harvest, ferment and distill the fuel.  There are other possibilities, such as hydrogen fuel cells, but that would mean large scale electolytic extraction of hydrogen from water and a hydrogen fuel distribution system, all of which have costs.  Nuclear fusion has been a dream for some because it can use any material and does not produce radioactive waste like fission, but no one has come up with a practical way to do it.  The main advantage of these fuels is that they are renewable.  Petroleum is not.

  2. Yes we need alternate forms of energy.  We already have one that produces no greenhouse gasses, and the source materials are here in the US.  We have enough supplies to provide all the energy we need for the next 300 years.  What is this wonderful Power?  Nuclear, we can build safe power plants and be energy  independent of oil.  France produces 70% of their total electric power using nuclear power.

  3. Electricity is the ultimate flexible fuel. Any source of energy can be made into electricity, ans transported long distances with very little loss.

The freest way to get electricity is to put up a solar panel.

Electric cars have come a long way. Look at what is being built now:

The Phoenix electric pickup truck - using new, advanced Altair Nanosafe batteries (based on research from MIT) - can:

-Travel up to 250 miles per charge

-Carry 5 passengers plus cargo at 95mph.

-Charges batteries in as little as TEN MINUTES.

-Has batteries that last 250,000 miles (never need replacement.)

  4. There is already a project in Australia were they are mining to around 5 kilometers beneath the surface to manipulate geo-thermal energy that can be transferred to power stations across the country as an alternate means of energy source. They are called "Hot Rocks" and the only cache has been discovered in central Australia, with a deposit more than twice the size of the oil deposits in the Middle East - as a simplistic explanation for such an early time of the morning for me.

  5. Alternative energy can be obtained from biogas preferably organic waste eg cow dung, kitchen waste etc.

  6. alternative energies are still unacceptable?

because the elites who own petroleum are still making money with petrol

and we have electricity by burning oil or coal

    when that runs out

the focus will shift to alternative energgies ,and there are many ,solar power (electric or heat)wind power (for dynamos or pumps or mills)the movement of the tides pendulums for electricity

the water flows ,rivers cannals waterfalls etc for water wheells (mills)or turbines (electricity)

there has been a hydrogen engine arround for almost a hundred years ,invented by Rudloph Steiner ,he was assasinated for his genius ,because nobody wanted a car that could run on water when Petrol was just taking off

but this engine is readty and waiting for the right time

when is the right time ????

,when oil runs out,and when these powerfull illuminati have figured out a way to charge us for the Sun and the air and the Water

  7. One fuel, ethanol, we get by super-distilling alcohol...
