How do we get from North Vietnam to South China by road or rail?

We are travelling around this part of Asia next week and we need ideas on how to get from Thasiland to Cambodia to Vietnam and then into China Cheap. So we figure by road or rail? We have our visas ready, but any advice on cheap travel, any problems or any must see's would be great.

Anyone who has travelled the same way would be good to get ideas from.

Thanks.

  1. Youyi Guan / Hghi Quan border crossing has train traffic. I have never done this myself but I have friends that have and they said it was easy and inexpensive. Also Its cheaper to buy tickets in China than it is in Vietnam.

the LaoCai / Hekou crossing is popular with travellers and has a road bridge and separate rail bridge over the Red River. But there are no direct trains at this crossing. The Viet train stops at the border and you have to take a bus on the other side.

So the primary train crossing is at Youyi Guan / Hghi quan

this is usually reffered to as the "Friendship Gate"

  2. Go North you can't miss it

  3. from north Vietnam, Hanoi you can book car ticket to china

it will be about 50usd for you take a trip from hanoi to guangzhou. if you get trip to nanning it will cheaper

you can contact to some travel agency in Hanoi for booking the ticket. it is very convernient for you. and this is cheapest way to travel to china

wish you have a nice trip
